Update schedule change!

Hello hello! The end of the semester is fast approaching for me, which sort of accounts for the missed/late updates that have been rampant the past couple of weeks. You see, Monday’s are my busiest days: I’m in class from 9:30 AM to 8:20 PM. Needless to say, by the time I do get back to my room, I tend to…forget some things. So, I’m changing Paradigm Shift’s update schedule from Mondays and Fridays to Tuesdays and Fridays! Still twice a week, but I hope you guys can understand my need to shift the dates around!

Get it? Shift the dates?

I’m sorry.

In other news, DREAM STATE development is going along slowly but surely: I might have to budget a week or two of no updates just to build a proper buffer, but I don’t think the interruption will be severe!

We’re gettin’ into the big stuff with Paradigm Shift now! Thanks for reading!

HOW DO I WEBSITE

So I updated all of the plugins and themes today and now the theme is a mess because I am terrible at developing for PHP. Static HTML and CSS, I’m down, but all this dynamic stuff just confuses me. If I had the hours to devote to properly figure out it, I would, but alas, schooool [makes vague hand motions].Anywho, other things: concepts for DREAM STATE (the comic that follows Paradigm Shift) are developing slowly but surely. And that’s pretty awesome, I think! It’d be nice if I could work on that instead of doing BS work for classes I don’t care about, but eh, such is life, I do suppose.

I’m thinking about setting up a Gumroad store soon to sell things like extra prints and stickers that I made for conventions and maybe a pay-what-you-want PDF of Paradigm Shift once it’s all said and finished? That’d be pretty neat, I think!

Howdy! Many thanks as always for taking the time to read Paradigm Shift; I’m recently moved back in at school, but regular updates will continue on schedule (hopefully!). I’m currently working on a sort-of PS sequel, which is fun and exciting, and the plan is to get enough of it done by the end of PS so I can just follow up seamlessly with that. I’m terrible with plans though, so we’ll see how this goes.

If you haven’t noticed from the most recent pages, Paradigm Shift does sort-of adapt some characters from other literary works (The Player is another one of these, heavily inspired by Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). This is partially due to the fact that, when I originally thought of and drew PS last year, I had to fulfill some assignment requirements, but also because I’m just a very referential person: books I read and things I watch tend to influence me, even if I don’t intend them to. With this in mind, I’ve complied a handy bibliography of sorts over here. These texts are by no means required reading (PS can stand up on its own without secondary texts, I think), but if you’re interested, feel free to check it out! The Search for Meaning is the book that’s heavily referenced throughout the comic, since PS is heavily built upon Ford’s concept of “worldviews”. Plus, I personally think it’s really interesting, if you’re in to thinking about those sort of things.

Anywho, that’s all I’ve got from this end! Hope you’re enjoying the story thus far; believe me when I say it’s gonna keep getting wilder from here on out. c:

Hello everyone! Thanks for checking out the comic: you can find info on the About page currently. I’m still trying to get this whole website set up and polished to my liking (for example, I still can’t get the Archives to work properly), but I’m going to try to update the comic in the meantime! The first five pages are up currently, and I’ll put a new page up every Friday. I’m really excited to start sharing this story with all of you, it’s quite dear to my heart. Cheers!
