Paradigm Shift is a comic that references a bunch of other stuff and is influenced by even more stuff! You don’t need to be familiar with all of that stuff to get the full experience of the comic, but here’s a guide just in case you’re interested in that sort of thing!

ALSO NOTE: I guess there could be some ~SPOILERS~ in this reference list, but I want to make it available regardless:

The following works were referenced during this comic, or in some way influenced the ideas presented in it:

Dennis Ford’s The Search for Meaning, in the classification of worldviews presented throughout the story.

Tom Stoppard’s Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, in the character of The Player.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, in the character of Henry Clerval.

Frank Herbert’s Dune, in the desert setting seen during archetypal psychology (and, of course, the sandworms).

BBC’s Doctor Who, in the TARDIS and The Player’s appearance as the Eleventh Doctor.

John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, in some of the ideas presented in the finale (and, by extention, William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, in the titular quote).
